Story Time in Education!
I offer workshop style performances for primary school visits and in these sessions incorporate character movement exercises, literature based activities and story trail hunts alongside interactive storytelling performances.
My creative and playful approach allows the children to engage with me and further explore a book and it’s themes or characters, in a fun and playful way. My workshops are ideal for Reception Year and Year 1 & 2.
I like to accommodate all of my clients where I can, so if you are looking at a particular text that I am not familiar with, with plenty of notice I will learn the text and prepare a bespoke session for you. Otherwise, I have an extensive repertoire of popular books and packaged activities that I can adapt to compliment any particular theme you may be covering.
How long do my session last?
My lessons last 30 or 60 minutes depending on what you require.
I perform all of my stories from memory and reenact them playing all the characters, using props and encouraging the children to join in with the use of repetitive words and phrases. So my sessions are very physical, visual and engaging.
I also like to devise game-like activities that are relevant to the stories I perform and showcase an educational element; to keep things fresh, fun, entertaining and educational. Although I am an actor by trade, I have worked with children for many years with my performing, so understand how to adapt and engage with children for periods of time.

Little sessions for little imaginations!
I now provide smaller sessions for preschool and nursery classes.
Designed especially for young children, these sessions encourage listening, imagination and participation in a calm, nurturing environment.
Through gentle character play, songs and movement, children are invited to explore stories in a way that’s fun, engaging and developmentally appropriate.
15-20 minute sessions. Perfect for samll groups or whole-class sessions, these experiences help forster a love of books from an early age.
